How to run a BlackBerry diagnostic test on a phone that is having issues sending or receiving mail from a Final ASP Exchange account.

If you are having issues connecting sending or receiving messages on your BlackBerry device, and you have verified that you are on a BlackBerry Enterprise plan you may want to run a diagnostics test on your phone. The diagnostics report will let you know if the phone is connecting to the wireless data network correctly.

Here are some instructions on running a BlackBerry diagnostics report:

1. Click on the BlackBerry Menu button to open the menu, select the Options menu from the list.



2. In the Options menu select the Mobile Network menu.



2. Click the menu button and select "Diagnostic Test"



3. Click the menu button again and select "Run"




Once the diagnostic test is complete review the results. In the diagnostic test we are looking for these results:

Radio Data Activation: Yes
ICMP Ping Echo: Yes
BlackBerry Registration: Yes
Connected to BlackBerry: Yes
BlackBerry Pin-Pin: Yes

If there is a "No" on any of these lines then the phone might be either out of a data area or need to be registered with the data network. If you "Yes" next to each of these items, but still have issues with email you may need to re-sync the BlackBerry with the server.
